The first-ever The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival is slated for this weekend at Baha Mar. John Cox, curator and executive director of arts and culture for the resort and its The Current: Baha Mar Gallery & Art Center, tells #MorningBlend on Guardian Radio 96.9FM the 3-day event will feature renowned international and local chefs with tasting menus and curated culinary experiences, along with art tours, and even an opening day beach party with Boyz II Men.

Pharmaceutical retailers and wholesalers say they were “blindsided” by the government’s decision to add fourteen categories of prescription and over-the-counter medications to the price control list without consulting their industry. Bahamas Pharmaceutical Association BPA Bahamas Pharmacy Association says this move will reduce the mark ups for wholesalers (15-18%) and retailers (35-40%) to razor thin margins, which could negatively impact some of the smaller and newer operators.

They are hopeful, though, that an upcoming meeting with the Economic Affairs Minister will bring some solutions and resolution.
