Marathons are back! After two years of cancellations, postponements or having to conduct them virtually - as a result of the COVID pandemic - competitive long-distancing running is returning in a big way.
Bahamas Road Masters has for more than 30 years been assisting members to meet and train for events. President Anastasia Turnquest, Michael Cunningham, just back from the Berlin and Chicago marathons, and Tina Lightbourne, also representing Cancer Treatment Centers of America, give #MorningBlend on Guardian Radio 96.9FM details about their 10th Annual Bahamas Half Marathon (13.1 miles). It’s set for Sunday, Nov. 20 at 6pm at Arawak Cay. There’ll also be a 10K (6.2 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) that morning.

The International Cultural Festival - officially the International Culture Wine & Food Festival (ICWFF) - has a new location and will feature some innovations. The event is cashless, and SandDollar.BS will be the currency of choice. Twenty-six countries will be represented at the festival, scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 10am to 10pm, and Sunday, October 23, 10am to 7pm, at Collins House Grounds on Collins Ave. & Shirley Street. Admission: $10 adults, $3 children.
