The 76th Annual Gulf and Caribbean Fisheries Institute (GCFI) #GCFI76 Conference is underway this week at Atlantis Resort.

Danielle Hanek, Acting Director, Bahamas Forestry, and Martin Russell, GCFI, tell #MorningBlend on Guardian Radio 96.9FM that about 300 representatives from nearly 40 countries, and 150 national conference participants for The Bahamas will attend in-person and virtually.

The theme of this year’s conference is:

“Linking science and society towards a vision for sustainable fisheries“.

It’s the second GCFI conference being hosted in The Bahamas; the last time was the 44th annual conference in 1991.
