The first of what’s expected to become a regular series of ”Community Legal Aid Clinics” is scheduled for this Saturday. Eugene Dupuch Law School (ELDS) and Bahamas Bar Association are partnering on the initiative.

EDLS representatives Nicole Sutherland King, Director of Legal Aid Clinic, and Kevin Farrington, and Bar Assoc. Pres. Kahlil Parker, QC, on #MorningBlend on Guardian Radio 96.9FM, outline the critical need for free legal aid in the country, and share details about what we can expect on Saturday. We also discuss the plans to make the clinics virtual going forward, and to take them to the Family Islands.

The insurance industry is extremely concerned about proposed VAT-related adjustments expected to come into effect with the new fiscal year July 1. These couldnpotentially increase medical insurance, bills and treatment costs for thousands of Bahamians.
