Robert Farquharson, Director of Labour at Bahamas Department of Labour, on #MorningBlendBusiness on Guardian Radio 96.9FM discussing the new Minimum Wage ($260 per week or $52 per day for 40 hr work weeks, or $6.50 per hour), which went into effect on Jan. 1. He says so far, there’ve been no reported issues.
Farquharson also says there are many sectors seeking skilled and certified workers. He’s encouraging all Bahamians - unemployed AND employed - to register with the Bahamas Online Skills Bank jobseekers.Bahamas.gov.bs
